Business Rates Multiplier (UBR) 2019/20
The September 2018 CPI figure was announced on 17th October 2018 as 106.6 which gives a CPI inflation rate of 2.4%. This results in a provisional Small Business Non Domestic Rating Multiplier (small UBR) for England in 2019/20 of 0.491 and a provisional Non Domestic Rating Multiplier (Large UBR) of 0.504 The provisional figures were confirmed on 14th February 2019 Please go to our news page for more details RPI and CPI September 2017 - Business Rates Multiplier (UBR) 2018/19 The September 2017 RPI figure was announced as 275.1 which gave an RPI inflation rate of 3.85%. This WOULD have resulted in a Small Business Non Domestic Rating Multiplier for 2018/19 of 0.484, but from 2018/19 CPI will be used to determine the new multiplier. The CPI inflation rate is 2.97% Therefore, the Small Business Non Domestic Rating Multiplier for 2018/19 will be 0.480 and the Large multiplier will be 0.493 The provisional multipliers will be confirmed in February 2018 The Scottish multipliers will 0.480 and 0.506, and the Welsh multiplier will be 0.514 Non Domestic Rating Multiplier (UBR) 2017/18 The Small Business Non Domestic Rating Multiplier for England for 2017/18 is 0.466 the full multiplier for England in 2017/18 is 0.479 The Scottish Poundage Figure for 2017/18 is 0.466 or 0.492 for large properties The Welsh multiplier for 2017/18 is 0.499 Non Domestic Rating Multiplier (UBR) 2016/17 The Small Business Non Domestic Rating Multiplier for England for 2016/17 is 0.484 the full multiplier for England in 2016/17 is 0.497 The Scottish Poundage Figure for 2016/17 is 0.484 or 0.510 for large properties The Welsh multiplier for 2016/17 is 0.486 RPI September 2015 - Estimated Multiplier (UBR) 2016/17 The September 2015 RPI figure has been announced as 259.6 which gives an inflation rate of 0.8%. This should result in a Small Business Non Domestic Rating Multiplier for 2016/17 of 0.484, so, if the supplement for Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR) remains unchanged at 0.013 then the full multiplier for England in 2016/17 will be 0.497 The provisional multipliers will be announced in December 2015 and confirmed in February 2016 The Scottish multipliers will probably be the same as England, and the Welsh multiplier should be 0.486 |
